Reflections deals with the stressors that impact urban youth, such as poverty, alcohol and drug abuse, drug trafficking, violence, and negative risk-taking. Using language arts, it provides a realistic model that works from within the lifestyles of current populations rather than from misperceptions of their needs and values. Finally, the authors provide a forum for shared experience where facilitators become participants in learning and prevention and activities.
